Catching the Vision Post-It Notes: Hopes

At Catching the Vision (13/10/13) we all were asked to write our hopes for Bingley on a Post-It note and stick it to the board.
Here are the results.

COMMUNITY

A sense of purpose.

Sense of community – more community events.

A supermarket that cares about community.

Is that it provides for all ages that live here.

A renewed feeling for community and commitment to work together for a positive future.

To support local groups and resources so that they survive.

A buzz in the marketplace.

A shared goal to revitalise the whole town from the White horse to metal grey and two or four corners.

Community activities, galas, parades etc.

Call a follow-up meeting in a different environment e.g. the main schools or little theatre

A happy, vibrant community to nurture future children in.

Hope for connections between humans not just locally that also nationwide and worldwide.

A stronger communal effort helping to regenerate the shops and the spirit of unity and community.

Greater sense of community.things for the lonely, elderly and young mums.

That the town is like the arts centre with friendly cooperation.

And that we will care for those in need, the elderly and those with little resources.

The people of Bingley should sponsor market stall rentals to encourage a wider range of traders.

That it will grow to be a thriving town with its own identity.chamber of trade needs to have Bingley residence at their

meetings.

It is tired – litter in places, unemployment, low wages, young people's activities, church attendance and membership,

church teaching.

We can work together in an equal manner.

Revised sense of community.

That the people of Bingley can pull together in strengthening our town/community.

Become a more friendly community.

Great hope that we can make a difference to provide a great place with a heart for our children.

A town choir.

Groups working together – more cohesion.

Engagement with young people – provision for younger children aged eight onwards who are beginning to go off the rails.

Hope community can be encouraged.

Development of collaborative and inclusive community leadership.

To thrive and use the potential that is already here.

That people will support positive proposals for the improvement of the town.

Happiness and friendship.Its identity and community spirit.

Someone to listen to the residents about our needs.we feel neglected so much.

Give thanks for our member of Parliament and local councillors who have for years and still are dedicated to Bingley and

also many voluntary organisations.they need our support and thanks.also to our local clergy.

This a fight for Bingley has been going on for a long time and with the promise of Aldi coming the green shoots of progress are already showing. So many thanks are due to many determined people.

More working together of churches together.

Positive thinking about Bingley's future.

Some T&A reports makes them sound out of touch with the community.

Prosperity and tolerance.

That it is a place of caring there hope and love are visible.

Seamless integration of church and community.

More community events and festivals that appeals to all ages.

A thriving youth culture.

More people to come into Bingley and become part of a vibrant community.

That we organise and develop the wonderful potential of this town.

That it continues to work together as a town to reduce crime and make a safe place for all.

Enthusiasm and shopping at home.

A sense of purpose.

That promises are made fact.

We value people, attitudes, the support, the volunteers.

To build on our sense of belonging to a friendly and caring community.we have it but we need it to Grow.

It's been a fantastic service and a great initiative but we've  heard all the words – now it's time for action.

Swimming baths stay open.

Nice swimming pool to take my children to.

Keep our existing facilities – Bingley pool etc.

We Live in a lovely market town in the friendly town of Bingley let us give thanks.

No more supermarket – more independent shops.

Not big supermarkets.

Overdevelopment of green fields, lack of good shops.loss of swimming pool. I don't want another supermarket.

Preservation of character – river, mill conversions.

That you can still get a pint in the White horse.

IDENTITY

An identity for Bingley.

That Bradford Council will treat Bingley as a town in its own right.

That Bingley will regain its own identity.

Growth in the sense of identity.

A place where people wants to come.

REGENERATION

Hope for visitors and more use of empty shops etc. Please a Marks and Spencer food department.

That it will become a lively, vibrant town.

Becomes a thriving shopping town.

Regeneration of dead areas.

Regeneration of close to shops.

Small businesses use the empty shops and markets.

Improving parking.

Something to be done with the Bradford and Bingley building society.

Sainsburys decides quickly.

Thriving independent businesses.

Beat generation through new business initiatives talked

I wish to see a budget supermarket as the current one is quite expensive.

More places of interest for young people i.e. sports facilities, the cinema?.

To improve first impressions – improve shopping, and car parking.

The heritage building being empty or run down.those empty or likely to be: swimming pool, courts, police station are

regenerated.

Make more of the Market Square i.e. Morris dancers.return Myrtle park to its former glory and repair the clock on the old library which has been an eyesore for the past eight years.

New small businesses.

More investment from Bradford Council and private companies.

Sainsburys to open.

I hope for a focus that will attract folk to the town e.g. the development of the Sainsbury's supermarket.

Better place to live in and a supermarket.

Entrepreneurs to thrive, visionaries to be released.

More trade.

New use of Bradford and Bingley building society

More investment from Bradford Council.

To be prosperous and play bigger part in the regeneration of the district.

More shops and nice restaurants.

Bingley should be a go to place for shopping, leisure and recreation. Everyone should help build up this community better.

Fill the empty shops.

Viable shopping centre – flourishing Aldi.

More variety of shops.

Building on brownfield sites. All the shops to be in use. Maintain rural nature of the town.

New shops.

Decisions to benefit all. Regeneration community sense when you thought

Let empty shops be used by people who are starting up – give shop owners incentives to keep trading.

That Bingley is regenerated. That the market is enlarged. The shopping centre full of quality shops.

More people to shop and trade in the town, bringing the main street to life.

A vibrant, upright, busy and full high-street.

Sort out Bradford and Bingley building ASAP – either build or demolish it. Encourage Bingley people to shop in town.

At the Bradford and Bingley building is regenerated to help Bingley and its businesses.

No empty shops.

Regeneration in all its many ways and wonders.

Make Bingley a proper town again.

More facilities for all ages.

Heads Bingley is developed sympathetically. That we use Brownfield sites the development and not green fields.

Bingley businesses to thrive. A few more varied shops.

More places to draw people in.

Hope for a parish church building fit for people with mobility problems.

Use being made of the old Bradford and Bingley building society building and regeneration of the town centre.

Focal point potential is Market Square.

Make Bradford and Bingley building an art installation – light it up as an advent calendar!

Cushions in the church.

RELIGIOUS

People to live in peace together, pray and care for one another.

The town thriving and inspired by God's people.

It will be blessed by the holy spirit.

Jesus in the centre.

Churches will be full of people thanking God.

The holy spirit.

Improvements in all the above with prayer and action.
